Kerala Police to deploy 18,741 personnel for Sabarimala pilgrimage season

Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 14 (UNI) The Kerala Police have finalized extensive arrangements to ensure a safe and seamless Sabarimala Mandala–Makaravilakku pilgrimage, set to begin on November 17, the first day of the Malayalam month of Vrischikam.
A total of 18,741 police personnel, including senior officers and civil police staff, will be on duty throughout the festival season at the world-famous Lord Ayyappa temple in Sabarimala.
A six-phase security plan has been formulated, with operations divided across the Nilakkal, Pampa, and Sannidhanam zones. Drone surveillance will cover all three zones to bolster real-time monitoring, while bike and mobile patrols will be intensified to curb traffic violations and prevent accidents. Kerala Police Commandos will also be stationed at strategic points.
