Kerala seizes narcotics worth over Rs 10 crore: Actor Mohanlal to lead public awareness drive

Thiruvananthapuram, June 16 (UNI) Kerala Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala on Tuesday said narcotic substances worth more than ₹10 crore have been seized during the first 15 days of Operation Toofan: The Narco Hunt, the state's flagship anti-drug campaign aimed at dismantling drug trafficking networks.
Speaking after an inter-agency coordination meeting with senior officials of central agencies, including the Intelligence Bureau (IB), at the Police Headquarters, Chennithala announced that actor Mohanlal has agreed to join the campaign as a "Toofan Warrior" to strengthen public awareness against drug abuse.
The minister said Mohanlal's ViswaSanthi Foundation has been actively involved in anti-drug initiatives for the past three years and added that several other film personalities and prominent citizens have also come forward to support the campaign.
