Kerala to form high-power committee to strengthen epidemic control

Thiruvananthapuram, June 16 (UNI) The Kerala Government has decided to constitute a State High-Power Committee for Epidemic Control to scientifically study recurring infectious disease outbreaks and formulate long-term prevention and response strategies, Health Minister K. Muraleedharan said on Tuesday.
The committee, to be set up under the Health Department, will bring together eminent doctors from the government and private sectors, public health experts and representatives from allied departments.
The Minister said effective epidemic control requires coordinated efforts involving local self-government institutions, the Food Safety Department, the Animal Husbandry Department, the private healthcare sector and other stakeholders.
