Kerala University Laws Amendment Bills introduced to ensure syndicate efficiency

Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 7 (UNI) The University Laws (Amendment) Bills have been introduced in the Kerala Legislative Assembly. Higher Education and Social Justice Minister Dr. R. The move, the Minister said yesterday, aims to make university governance more transparent, accountable, and responsive. "The proper and timely functioning of syndicates is vital for both universities and students. The amendments are intended to strengthen this framework," she noted.
Dr. Bindu cited instances where Vice Chancellors (VCs) had allegedly acted outside their jurisdiction or failed to comply with statutory requirements, sometimes taking decisions under "external influence."
