LDF dominance continues in CM and State Secy's native villages in Kannur, UDF retains Kannur Municipal Corpn

Kannur, Dec 13 (UNI) Ruling CPI(M)-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) continued their dominance in Kannur district, the native place of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and CPI(M) State Secretary MV Govindan, in the local body election.
The LDF marked a clean sweep (non-- opposition) in Anthoor Municipality and seven grama panchayats -- Pinarayi, Pannyanoor, Kankol-Alapadamba, Kallyassery, Kannapuram, Kathirur, Karivellur-Peralam.
However, the number of non-opposition panchayats was diminished to 7 from 11 in the last election held in 2020 in Kannur district.
