Maha: Court in Ratnagiri sentences youth to 20 yrs RI to man for rape minor girl

Kolhapur, Ratnagiri, Jan 21 (UNI) The district and sessions judge Anil Kumar Ambalkar court in Ratnagiri today convicted and sentenced a youth to 20 years rigorous imprisonment for repeatedly raping and impregnanting a minor girl in Lanja of Ratnagiri district in 2022.
According to Public prosecutor Ms Meghna Nalawade, accused Sahil Dattaram Masane (21), repeatedly raped the girl whenever he was called to cook food at home in Lanja and made her six months pregnant. He had also threatened to kill her if she told anyone about this.
When her relatives came to know that the victim was 6 months pregnant, they filed a complaint at Lanja police station. Based on the complaint, the then Assistant Police Inspector Tejaswini Patil had registered a case under Sections 376, 376 (F), 376 (J), 376 (N), 506 of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 4,6,8,12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012.
