Maha: OBC activists allege bias in Compensation Policy, warn of Mumbai protest

Hingoli, June 13 (UNI) Tensions over the reservation issue resurfaced at an OBC awareness meeting held in Jaipur, where OBC activists strongly criticised the government, alleging discrimination against the Other Backward Classes community.
OBC activist Navnath Waghmare and Professor Laxman Hake accused the government of treating the OBC community unfairly. They questioned the compensation policy for families of those who lost their lives during various reservation-related agitations.
Speaking at the gathering, Waghmare said that while the families of individuals who died by suicide during the Maratha reservation movement were provided financial assistance of Rs ₹10 lakh, families of nearly 30 OBC activists who allegedly sacrificed their lives while fighting to protect OBC reservation rights have not received similar support.
