Maha: Tribal Ministers, MLAs meet Governor

Mumbai, June 18 (UNI) A group of tribal MLAs and representatives of tribal social organisations, led by Minister of Food and Drug Administration Narhari Zirwal, met Maharashtra Governor C P Radhakrishnan and discussed various issues concerning tribal welfare at Raj Bhavan, here on Wednesday.
As per a statement issued by Raj Bhavan, the meeting discussed recruitment of employees from the Scheduled Tribes in the PESA (Panchayats Extension to Scheduled Areas) areas, removing inconsistencies in the recruitment orders, enacting legislation to preventing illegal acquisition of caste certificates, establishment of a Tribal University, construction of hostels for tribal boys and girls in university campuses at Mumbai and Pune, expediting pending forest rights claims and holding meetings of the Tribal Advisory Council twice a year.
Minister of Tribal Development Ashok Wooike, MLAs Bhimrao Keram, Rajendra Gavit, Raju Todsam, Aamshya Padvi, Nitin Pawar, were among those present.

Five medical cadets commissioned at AFMC Pune ceremony

Pune, July 12 (UNI) A spectacular ceremony was witnessed at the commissioning of medical cadets at the Bharadwaj Auditorium, Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune today.
Of the five cadets commissioned, one has been inducted into the Indian Air Force and four into the Indian Army, in the august presence of senior dignitaries, veterans, faculty and proud parents.

Synthetic drugs producer Mustafa Mohammed Kubbawala arrested from UAE

Sangli, Maharashtra, Jul 12 (UNI) Mustafa Mohammed Kubbawala, a major producer of synthetic drugs who allegedly ran a drugs manufacturing factory at Irali village in Kavathe-Mahankal tehsil of the district and against whom a 'Red Corner' notice was issued by Interpol, has finally been arrested and brought to India from United Arab Emirates (UAE).
