Maharashtra Legislative Council polls: voting underway for 11 seats

Mumbai, Jun 18 (UNI) Voting for the 11 vacant seats of the Maharashtra Legislative Council from local authorities' constituencies is underway across the state on Thursday, amid heightened political activity. The polling process, which began at 9:00 AM, is scheduled to conclude at 4:00 PM.
According to official data, 31 candidates are in the fray across the 11 constituencies, with 7,043 voters casting their ballots to determine the future composition of the Upper House. The counting of votes for all seats will be held on June 22.
The 11 constituencies currently witnessing polling are Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Nashik, Jalgaon, Bhandara-Gondiya, Dharashiv-Latur-Beed, Solapur, Parbhani-Hingoli, Nanded, Sangli-Satara, Amravati, and Nagpur.
