Mahayuti government's farm loan waiver scheme is merely eyewash: Congress

Mumbai, June 3 (UNI) Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee President Harshvardhan Sapkal said on Wednesday that the loan waiver scheme announced by the BJP-led Mahayuti government under the leadership of Devendra Fadnavis is merely a showpiece.
"Through a play on words, the scheme imposes numerous rules, conditions, and eligibility restrictions, deliberately excluding more than 50 percent of the state's farmers. This is a cruel joke on farmers," he told mediapersons here.
The government should make the 7/12 land records of all farmers in the state debt-free, he demanded.

Sangli: 14-year-old boy shot dead over extortion dispute

Sangli, Jun 11 (UNI) In a shocking incident, a 14 year-old boy, grandson of a labour leader, was shot in the head over an extortion dispute by unidentified criminals in the Abhaynagar area of the city this evening.
According to police, the deceased boy was identified as Vendant Bandgar, whose grandfather Balu Bandagar is a labour leader.
