Major road accidents in UP: 3 dead, over 40 injured in separate incidents

Meerut, Nov 18 (UNI) A major road accident occurred early Tuesday morning on the Agra–Lucknow Expressway when a private double-decker bus traveling from Agra to Lucknow lost control, hit the divider, and overturned. The crash took place around 4 a.m. near the Araul police station area.
According to officials, three passengers died on the spot, while around 20 others sustained serious injuries, more than a dozen of whom are reported to be in critical condition. The critically injured were rushed by ambulance to Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital in Kanpur, where they are undergoing treatment. Other injured passengers received first aid at the site and nearby medical centres.
DCP (West) Dinesh Tripathi visited the hospital to meet the injured, review medical arrangements, and instruct doctors to ensure the best possible treatment. Eyewitnesses reported that the bus was overcrowded and the driver was speeding. The driver allegedly lost control, causing the vehicle to ram into the divider and overturn. The impact was so severe that the upper portion of the bus was completely crushed, trapping several passengers.
