Man assaulted, firearms stolen in violent home invasion northeast of Melbourne

Sydney, June 23 (UNI) Australian police are searching for a group of offenders after a man was assaulted and firearms were stolen during a violent home invasion northeast of Melbourne.
A police statement said that the group of three unknown offenders arrived at a property in the small town of Yea, 80 km northeast of Melbourne, at 1:15 a.m. on Monday armed with firearms and a machete and attacked a 58-year-old male occupant when he refused to hand over money and firearms.
Officers were told that the man was dragged out of the house and locked inside the trunk of his own car, which was then driven down the driveway before he escaped.
