Manali–Leh Highway to close from Nov 20; Landslide near Mooling Bridge halts traffic

Shimla/Keylong, Nov 17 (UNI) The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has recommended the seasonal closure of the 435-km Manali–Leh National Highway from November 20 in view of the onset of winter and the rising risk of heavy snowfall, black ice, and freezing conditions.
Acting on BRO’s advisory, the Lahaul-Spiti district administration on Monday issued a formal notification announcing the closure of vehicular movement on the high-altitude route.
According to the BRO’s 70 RCC, the administration has been requested to halt all traffic after November 20 on the Jingjingbar–Sarchu, Gulaba–Rohtang, and Gramphoo–Losar stretches.
