Marandi slams Soren, says CM focused on photo sessions, not state’s condition

Ranchi, Jan 24 (UNI) Former Jharkhand Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi on Friday launched a sharp attack on Chief Minister Hemant Soren, alleging that the Chief Minister is more concerned about photo sessions and personal image than the deteriorating condition of the state.
In a post on social media, Marandi said that the Chief Minister has little concern for Jharkhand, which, according to him, is witnessing a steady decline on multiple fronts. He alleged that while the situation in the state is worsening day by day, the Chief Minister remains focused only on white badge appearances and photo sessions in expensive coats and mufflers.
Marandi further wrote that the Chief Minister, who reportedly takes pride in receiving entry cards for high-profile meetings, should also feel ashamed of the plight of Jharkhand. He stated that the cost of the Chief Minister’s failures and inefficiency is being paid by the people of the state on a daily basis, with Jharkhand receiving new wounds every day.

Man sentenced to life imprisonment for raping stepdaughter

Agartala, Feb 14 (UNI) A 52-year-old man has been sentenced to life imprisonment by a special POCSO court in West Tripura for raping his 11-year-old stepdaughter in April 2024 in the Mandai area on the eastern outskirts of Agartala.
Special Public Prosecutor Jayanta Chowdhury said that the court ruled that the convict will remain behind bars for the remainder of his natural life. In addition to life imprisonment, the convict was fined Rs 5,000.
