Marsh 111 powers LSG in rain-hit thriller

Lucknow, May 7 (UNI) Mitchell Marsh delivered a commanding batting masterclass as Lucknow Super Giants held their nerve to defeat Royal Challengers Bengaluru by 9 runs in a rain-affected 19-over DLS Indian Premier League contest here on Thursday.
In a match repeatedly interrupted by rain, both innings were shortened to 19 overs per side, with RCB set a revised DLS target of 213 at the Atal Behari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium. However, the contest had already been shaped decisively by Marsh’s explosive 111 off 56 balls, which powered LSG to a formidable 209 for 3.
From the first over, Marsh stamped his authority on the game with fearless strokeplay, dismantling both pace and spin with remarkable ease. He raced to a blistering half-century in just 20 deliveries and never allowed RCB’s bowlers to settle into rhythm.
