Mayawati urges Centre and states to act promptly amid flood, landslide crises across several states

Lucknow, Sep 4 (UNI) Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati has expressed deep concern over the widespread destruction caused by heavy rainfall, floods, and landslides across several states in India, including Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Assam.
In a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Mayawati highlighted the grave situation, particularly in rural areas where flooding has led to significant loss of life, livestock, and property. She also pointed out the severe waterlogging in urban centers like Gurugram and Noida, which has severely disrupted daily life and caused immense hardship to millions of families.
Calling it a time for humanitarian response, Mayawati lauded the voluntary efforts of individuals and groups stepping up to help affected families. She termed this public initiative as “a heartening sign of compassion and unity.”
