New Delhi, Nov 29 (UNI) The MEA termed as “unfortunate” the remarks of Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi suggesting that PM Modi may be showing signs of forgetfulness and allegedly comparing him to outgoing US President Joe Biden.
MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said: "India shares a multifaceted partnership with the United States, built over years of perseverance, togetherness, mutual respect, and commitment by both sides. We see such reports or remarks as unfortunate; they are not in keeping with the warm and friendly ties between the two countries and do not represent the position of the Government of India.”
Addressing a campaign rally in Maharashtra two weeks ago, Rahul Gandhi said: “He (PM Modi) is suffering from memory loss like a former US President.”
