Meet reviews Hornbill Fest preparedness

Kohima, Aug 13 (UNI) The Nagaland government held a meeting to review the status of preparedness of the Hornbill Festival 2025 at the secretariat conference hall here today.
The 10-day Hornbill Festival, also called the festival of festivals, is held at Naga Heritage village, Kisama, near Kohima, every year from December 1.
Chairing the meeting with all the departments, chief secretary Sentiyanger Imchen emphasised the importance of starting preparations for the festival early and formation of subcommittees for effective coordination.

Meghalaya names squad for Senior Women's One Day Trophy 2025-26

Shillong, Jan 21 (UNI): A 15-member squad was named on Wednesday by the Meghalaya Cricket Association's senior women's selection committee for the BCCI's Senior Women One Day Trophy 2025-26 plate group, which will be held in Febuary.
The team will be captained by stalwart Debasmita Dutta, with Monica Lyngdoh Phawa as the vice-captain.

Odisha CM urges farmers to embrace fish farming and animal husbandry for self-reliance

Bhubaneswar, Jan 21 (UNI) Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday urged farmers to diversify their income by engaging in fish farming, cattle rearing, and animal husbandry alongside traditional agriculture.
Speaking at the inauguration of the three-day Fisheries and Animal Husbandry Conclave, Odisha-2026, Majhi emphasized the state government’s determination to make Odisha self-reliant in fish, meat, chicken, and eggs.
