Meghalaya CM for ‘outcome-oriented’ policing

Tura, May 21 (UNI) Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma on Thursday emphasized the need for “outcome-oriented” policing, maintaining that ultimately, the core of policing must remain law and order, crime prevention, and public safety.
He highlighted crimes against women and children, drug-related offences, conviction rates, and grassroots security mechanisms during the SSP–COs Conference 2026.
The meeting was held at Tree House here in West Garo Hills district, where senior police leadership and field officers of the Meghalaya Police gathered for detailed deliberations on operational efficiency, administrative reforms, law and order management, and infrastructure strengthening of the force.
