Mehbooba slams ‘bulldozer justice’ after portion of Olympian’s house demolished

Srinagar, Oct 4 (UNI) PDP president Mehbooba Mufti today hit out at the Uttar Pradesh government after a video surfaced from Varanasi showing the elderly father of Padma Shri awardee and Olympian Mohammad Shahid pleading with officials to spare his house.
Sharing the video on X, Mehbooba wrote that while Chief Justice of India Justice B.R. Gavai speaks of India being governed by the “rule of law, not the rule of the bulldozer,” the heartbreaking visuals from Varanasi tell a different story.
“The elderly father of Padma Shri awardee and Olympian Mohammad Shahid stands before a demolition squad, hands folded, voice trembling, begging for just a single day’s time to save his home. But no one is listening. If this isn’t bulldozer justice, then what is?” she asked.
