Mehraj Malik’s arrest under PSA is “unconstitutional”, says AAP leader Sanjay Singh

Jammu, Sep 10 (UNI) Criticising the arrest of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA from Doda constituency, Mehraj Malik, under the Public Safety Act (PSA), senior leader and national spokesman Sanjay Singh today termed it as "unconstitutional" and "illegal."
"Slapping PSA on AAP MLA, Mehraj Malik is unconstitutional but the party would raise the issue on streets, in the Parliament, and if required, also in the Supreme Court," Singh, who arrived here, told reporters. He added that to review the future course of action, he would also hold meetings with party leaders in Jammu and Kashmir.
Alleging that the BJP is targeting AAP leaders, Singh said, "What was Malik's crime? He was demanding a hospital for the people of his area but in return, a PSA was imposed on him. PSA is imposed on those who demand hospitals for the public in Jammu and Kashmir? He has been raising issues of public welfare but sections imposed on terrorists are imposed on him," he claimed.
