Mental health workshop organised for sahiyas by Ranchi District Health Society

Ranchi, Nov 12 ( UNI ) In order to understand and address the mental health challenges of its female frontline health workers Sahiyas, the Ranchi District Health Society organised a one-day “Mental Health Awareness and Orientation Workshop” at the Conference Hall of the Civil Surgeon Office, Ranchi.
The workshop was inaugurated by Civil Surgeon, Ranchi, Dr. Prabhat Kumar, who underscored the importance of prioritizing mental well-being in the demanding and fast-paced health environment. CS, stated, " The mental and physical health of Sahiyas directly influences community health outcomes, as they serve as the backbone of the healthcare system and the most trusted link between the government and the people."
The workshop was designed to assess the mental health needs of Sahiyas, strengthen their emotional resilience, and introduce peer-support and professional guidance frameworks. It also addressed the unique challenges they face working under limited resources, coping with gender-based discrimination, managing household responsibilities, and meeting high expectations from their communities.
