Merentiel on target as Boca Juniors end losing run

Buenos Aires, Oct 7 (UNI) Uruguayan forward Miguel Merentiel continued his impressive form as Boca Juniors snapped a three-game losing streak with a 1-0 home win over Argentinos Juniors.
Merentiel gave his side the lead just after the half hour on Sunday by firing home from close range after Edinson Cavani's shot was saved by Diego Rodriguez.
The goal was Merentiel's 16th across all competitions for Boca Juniors this year to go with his six assists. The result at La Bombonera lifts the Buenos Aires giants to 10th in the Primera Division standings with 24 points from 17 games, 12 points behind leaders Velez Sarsfield.
