Millions take holy dip at Prayagraj Sangam on Basant Panchmi

Prayagraj, Jan 23 (UNI) Basant Panchami, the festival marking the arrival of spring and the worship of Goddess Saraswati, the deity of knowledge, is being celebrated in the Sangam city on Friday with devotion and enthusiasm.
On this, a large number of devotees from all corners of the country have gathered to take a holy dip in Saraswati river in Prayagraj. Authorities have expected that around 20 million devotees are expected to take a dip in Sangam on the occasion of Basant Panchami during the ongoing Magh Mela.
Already over 9 million devotees have taken bath in Sangam till 8 AM, authorities claimed. Devotees are taking a dip in the waters of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the Saraswati at the Triveni Sangam and offering prayers to Goddess Saraswati, seeking knowledge and wisdom.
