Minister Kishan Reddy inaugurates photo exhibition ahead of Telangana Liberation Day celebrations

Hyderabad, Sep 14 (UNI) union Coal and Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy inaugurated a photo exhibition at Secunderabad Parade Grounds this evening, alongside Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, to mark the upcoming Telangana Liberation Day on September 17.

Speaking on the occasion, Kishan Reddy recalled the events following India’s independence in 1947, when the Nizam of Hyderabad refused to accede to the Indian union and unleashed the Razakars on the people, leading to over a year of violence and repression. He said it was only under the leadership of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, through Operation Polo, that Hyderabad State was liberated on September 17, 1948, and merged with India.
