Model Code of Conduct lifted in Kerala after completion of Assembly polls

Thiruvananthapuram, May 7 (UNI) The Election Commission on Thursday lifted the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) in Kerala with immediate effect following the completion of the 2026 Assembly election process and declaration of results.
In an official communication issued to the Chief Secretary and Chief Electoral Officer of Kerala, the Commission stated that the restrictions imposed after the announcement of the Assembly election schedule have now ceased to operate.
The order comes after the results of the Assembly elections in Kerala, Assam, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and the union Territory of Puducherry were formally declared by the respective Returning Officers.
