Modi-Nehru tenure row: KPCC chief Hariprasad accuses BJP of peddling half truths

Bengaluru, June 11 (UNI) Escalating the war of words over Prime Ministerial tenure records, Karnataka Congress President BK Hariprasad on Thursday launched a blistering attack on the BJP, accusing it of "rewriting history" to project Prime Minister Narendra Modi as having surpassed Jawaharlal Nehru in office.
Hariprasad dismissed the BJP's claims as a "desperate attempt" to distort historical facts, asserting that Nehru's contribution to nation-building and his place in India's political history could neither be eclipsed nor erased.
"The BJP may twist history repeatedly, but it cannot change it," he said in a strongly-worded social media post, reacting to celebrations by BJP leaders over Modi becoming the second-longest-serving Prime Minister in India's history.
