New Delhi, Oct 1 (UNI) Indian football club Mohun Bagan Super Giant will not travel to Iran for their AFC Champions League Two 2024-25 match against Tractor SC, which was scheduled to be held at the Yadegar Imam Stadium in Tabriz on Wednesday.
The Kolkata-based club cited the ongoing political unrest and security concerns in the region as their reason for cancelling the trip to the Islamic Republic of Iran. The decision has raised uncertainty about the status of the match, with the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) yet to announce whether the fixture will be rescheduled.
The ACL Two, formerly known as the AFC Cup, serves as Asia’s second-tier club competition, ranking just below the AFC Champions League Elite.
