N-E journalists explore royal heritage, silk legacy in Mysuru

Mysuru, Oct 18 (UNI) A delegation of journalists from Meghalaya and Tripura, currently on a Press Tour organised by the Press Information Bureau (PIB), Shillong, visited the world-famous Mysuru Palace and the Karnataka Silk Industries Corporation Ltd (KSIC), gaining deep insights into Karnataka’s royal legacy and its celebrated handloom traditions.
At the Mysuru Palace, the journalists were received by Nayak, Curator of the Palace, who personally guided them through the majestic structure and narrated the fascinating tales of the Wadiyar dynasty.
The delegation explored the palace’s Indo-Saracenic, Dravidian, and Gothic architectural blend, and learned about the historical context of its construction in 1912 after a devastating fire in 1897.
