Nagaland: Commuters asked to drive with utmost care on NH-29 at Chumoukedima

Dimapur, Jul 8 (UNI) In view of the onset of monsoon season and the increased risk of rockfalls and landslides, the Chumoukedima district administration has issued a public advisory for travel along the NH-29 stretch from Chathe bridge (Unity Gate) to Tsiedukhru–Khuokhi bridge (Kukidolong), advising the commuters to drive with utmost care, especially during heavy rain and nighttime/
The notice issued by DC Polan John on Wednesday urged road users to exercise extreme caution, particularly during periods of heavy rainfall and at night, when the likelihood of landslides and rockfalls is higher.
Asking commuters to follow traffic diversions and strictly adhere to instructions issued by authorities on-site, it said the left-hand side (LHS) carriageway of the four-lane highway may be temporarily closed to traffic without prior notice whenever necessary.
