Naidu directs priority for restoration of chain-linked tanks under Jaldhara programme

Vijayawada, June 13 (UNI): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has directed the officials to give top priority to the restoration and development of chain-linked tanks under the ongoing ‘Jaldhara–Jalaharathi’ programme.
He also instructed officials to complete the ongoing Jaldhara works by the end of this month.
The Chief Minister reviewed the progress of Jaldhara–Jalaharathi works through a video conference from the CM's Camp Office here on Saturday. The Chief Minister directed the officials to ensure optimum utilization of funds available under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) and cautioned officials against any laxity in fund utilization.

Madras HC dismisses PIL seeking CBI probe into TVK MLA bribery case, says news reports no basis

Chennai, July 18 (UNI) The Madras High Court has dismissed a PIL seeking a CBI probe into the case relating to the alleged attempt to induce a ruling Uthangarai TVK MLA Dr N.Elayaraja with a Rs 35 crore bribery offer on the grounds that newspaper reports and social media posts could form the basis for transferring a statutory criminal investigation.
