Narayanswamy: Karnataka's land policy driving away investors

Bengaluru, July 16 (UNI) Senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Chalavadi Narayanaswamy has launched a scathing attack on the Karnataka government over its mishandling of land acquisition for industrial projects, warning that states like Andhra Pradesh are taking advantage of the situation to attract investors.
Addressing the media today, Narayanaswamy said the government's failure to resolve farmers' protests and provide proper rehabilitation has created a vacuum that other states are now exploiting. “So obviously other states will take advantage of the state government's failure,” he said, referring to reports of aerospace companies being wooed by Andhra Pradesh after delays in the Karnataka project.
He criticised the delay in addressing farmers’ concerns regarding the proposed aerospace park near Bengaluru. “Alternative arrangements should have been made immediately. For 1,198 days, farmers have been protesting. What has the government done?” he asked.
