NC's MP Ruhullah to join Delhi protest, says fight for statehood, constitutional rights must be sustained

Srinagar, June 9 (UNI) Disgruntled National Conference MP Ruhullah Mehdi on Tuesday said he will join the Delhi protest for restoration of Jammu and Kashmir's statehood and constitutional guarantees, asserting that the movement should not become a symbolic "one-day event" meant to silence public sentiment.
Last week ruling party unanimously resolved to hold a protest in New Delhi on the opening day of Parliament's Monsoon Session to demand the immediate restoration of Jammu & Kashmir's Statehood and constitutional guarantees.
Speaking to reporters, Ruhullah said people had given them the responsibility to fight for restoration of Article 370 and the constitutional protections that existed before August 2019.
