NCP infighting surfaces: Chhagan Bhujbal expresses discontent following Rajya Sabha snub

Mumbai, Jun 10 (UNI) — Internal fissures within the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) have deepened as senior leader and Maharashtra Cabinet Minister Chhagan Bhujbal, on Wednesday, publicly expressed his resentment over being overlooked for the Rajya Sabha nomination. The party’s decision to field Rajendra Jain instead of the veteran leader has triggered a series of sharp, public remarks from Bhujbal, signaling a growing rift within the ruling Maha Yuti alliance.
Addressing the media here, Bhujbal did not mince words regarding his exclusion. "Over the last 26 years, some have risen through merit and hard work, while others have bypassed that process with ease," Bhujbal stated, in an apparent swipe at the changing power dynamics within the party.
The veteran leader, who had reportedly sought a Rajya Sabha seat in exchange for accommodating his nephew, former MP Sameer Bhujbal, in the state cabinet, hinted that his expectations for "equal justice" were ignored. "I only requested that the same yardstick applied to the kin of other party leaders be extended to my family," he remarked.
