Nepal unrest forces India to put talks on criminals' exchange on hold

Shimla, Sept 10 (UNI) The union Government has informed the Himachal Pradesh High Court that growing unrest in Nepal has compelled Indian diplomats to put the ongoing treaty negotiations for the exchange of absconding criminals on hold.
The Himachal Pradesh High Court yesterday deferred hearings in a set of criminal appeals filed by the state against Mahesh Khattary and others, after the union government requested additional time, citing political turmoil in Nepal.
The matter, involving criminal along with related appeals, was heard yesterday, before a division bench comprising Justice Vivek Singh Thakur and Justice Sushil Kukreja.

UP govt to provide SBI salary package benefits to 10 lakh employees of the Basic Education Department

Lucknow, July 10 (UNI) Approximately 10 lakh permanent and contractual employees of Uttar Pradesh's Basic Education Department will be brought under State Bank of India's (SBI) salary package through a proposed agreement between the state government and the country's largest lender, giving them access to insurance and other banking benefits linked to their salary accounts.
