IndiGo issues apology as widespread operational disruptions continue for second Day

New Delhi, Dec 3(UNI) At least 38 IndiGo flights were cancelled at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) between Tuesday midnight and Wednesday evening due to technical glitches and operational issues.
An IndiGo spokesperson attributed the disruptions to “a combination of unforeseen operational challenges,” citing minor technical glitches, winter-related schedule adjustments, adverse weather, increased air traffic congestion, and the implementation of updated crew rostering rules linked to Flight Duty Time Limitations.
The airline stated that these factors produced a “cumulative negative impact” that was unforeseen.
To stabilise operations, IndiGo has implemented “calibrated adjustments” to its flight schedules. These measures will remain in place for the next 48 hours as the airline works to restore on-time performance across its network.
“Our teams are working around the clock to ease customer discomfort and ensure operations stabilize as quickly as possible,” the spokesperson said.
Passengers affected by the disruptions are being provided with alternative travel options or refunds, based on eligibility. IndiGo has advised travellers to check the latest flight updates on its flight-status portal before heading to the airport.
“We deeply regret the inconvenience caused and remain fully committed to minimizing disruption and supporting our customers through this period,” the airline added.
IndiGo, operates a fleet of more than 400 aircrafts and runs over 2,300 daily flights connecting 90-plus domestic and 45 international destinations.
