Rupee improves 18 paise against USD

Mumbai, May 9 (UNI) The rupee on Friday improved 18 paise to close at 85.42 against USD on fresh selling of US dollars from foreign banks and importers, dealers at the Forex Market said.
The local unit, which has been seen under pressure for the last three sessions, opened negative only at 85.66, easing 6 paise in early trade. During the day, it erased earlier losses and finished at 85.42, recovering 18 paise as compared to its previous close.
The domestic unit regained owing to weak
The dollar against other world currencies, however, is negatively capped from further rises, the dealer informed.
The rupee recorded days' high and low at 85.37 and 85.70, respectively, the dealer added.
