Meghalaya Cabinet okays amendment, 50pc Group D posts reserved for regular casual workers

Shillong, Nov 14 (UNI) The Meghalaya Cabinet on Friday approved an amendment to Rule 6 (d) of the Meghalaya Ministerial District Establishment Service Rules, 2017.
Talking to reporters after the Cabinet meeting, Health and Family Welfare Minister, Wailadmiki Shylla said the amendment provides that 50 per cent of Group D posts in the state’s ministerial district establishments will henceforth be filled from amongst regular casual workers.
He said the amendment resolves a long‑standing confusion arising from conflicting Office Memorandums (OMs).
