As long as India needs coal, Coal India will continue to meet requirement : Chairman

Kolkata, Jan 26 (UNI) CIL Chairman P M Prasad on Sunday emphasised Coal India's commitment to ensuring energy independence for the nation.
Addressing the 76th Republic Day celebration here, Prasad stressed the need for ramping up coal production to meet the country’s growing energy demands while reducing reliance on coal imports.
He stated that this year, India is poised to surpass 1 billion ton of coal production, with Coal India contributing approximately 70 per cent to this milestone.
