Hazaribagh police seize opium worth Rs 42.5 lakh, four traffickers arrested

Hazaribagh, Nov 9 (UNI) The Hazaribagh Police seized 22 kgs of opium worth approximately Rs 42.5 lakh and arrested four alleged smugglers during a late-night operation. The seizure marks one of the biggest anti-narcotics actions in the district in recent months.
According to official reports, the Superintendent of Police, Hazaribagh, received a tip-off around 11:45 p.m. on November 8 that four individuals were planning to engage in the illegal trade of opium near Katha Factory, in front of the Toyota showroom on NH-33, Mukundganj under the Muffasil Police Station area.
Acting swiftly on the information, a special raiding team was constituted under the leadership of Additional Superintendent of Police (Headquarters) Amit Kumar.
