Six FIR filed against online groups, channels in Manipur’s Churachandpur district

Imphal, Mar 23 (UNI) Manipur Police has taken up six different FIR against WhatsApp Groups/Channel (Links) for spreading fake and inflammatory news creating and promoting fear, panic and public alarm in Churachandpur District.
Police said on Sunday that legal action will be taken up against other channels too which are spreading fake or inflammatory news.
Police further said security forces destroyed three illegal bunkers at Purum Likli hilltop (eastern side) under Sagolmang-PS, Imphal East District in an operations during the last 24 hours.
Manipur Police also arrested one vehicle lifter from Lilong Chingkham Tamayai Leikai under Lilong-PS, Thoubal District.
Various operations were launched in four districts.
At Kakching district one local made Pompi, Single Barrel gun, .303 Rifle with Magazine, modified CMG Carbine, .303 live round ammunition, 4 kg of IED, and large numbers of war like materials were seized.
In an operation at Imphal East , SBBL gun, Improvised Projectile Launcher (Pompi), ammunition were recovered.
At Senapati district four Bolt Action Single Barrel guns and 15 12 Bore ammunition were seized.
At Kangpokpi eighteen Pompi gun, HE rocket and one country made projectile launching weapon were seized.
Police said on Saturday some unknown persons entered the residence of an alleged functionary of a militant group and a fight ensued in which four sustained minor injuries.
A police team raided the office of AT and various materials were seized.
Security forces also arrested one active cadre of the PLA at Thoubal district.

“Sangma is scheduled to fly to Rome, Italy, from New Delhi on Thursday evening. He will be attending Pope Francis’ funeral service at a personal capacity, an official said on Wednesday.
