Accused who fled Meghalaya police custody re-arrested in Kerala

Shillong, Mar 9 (UNI) An accused in a theft case in Meghalaya who was on the run for more than four years after escaping from lawful custody ran out of luck after Kerala Police tracked him, police said on Sunday.
Ranjan Borgohain of Duliajan in Assam’s Dibrugarh district was arrested by Meghalaya Police allegedly for stealing from a godown at Khanapara area in Meghalaya’s Ri-Bhoi district
escaped from custody on November 20, 2020 and was evading arrest since then, Vivekanand Singh Rathore, the district police chief of Ri-Bhoi district, said.

Shillong, Apr 29 (UNI) Meghalaya Police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) troopers vacated from North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) Shillong campus late Monday night after varsity’s authorities wrote to state authorities to withdraw the security personnel to restore normalcy in the campus, an official said on Tuesday.
