240 sarees recovered in South Tripura along Bangladesh border

Agartala, Jan 12 (UNI) In a joint operation, South Tripura district police and jawans of 69 battalion of Border Security Force (BSF) in Khedabari of Sabroom, successfully recovered a significant quantity of sarees from an abandoned location along the Indo-Bangladesh border.
Acting on precise intelligence, the team searched an abandoned site located in the Bagantilla area of Gaurangabazar last night, police said, adding that the consignment was suspected to be smuggled out to Bangladesh.
According to the report, as many as 240 sarees were recovered during the operation. Since no legitimate claimant could be identified at the scene, the items were confiscated in accordance with Section 106 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Samhita (BNSS).
