AR organizes integration tour for Manipur women

Imphal, Mar 12 (UNI) To promote National Integration and foster cultural exchange, the Assam Rifles formation under Spear Corps flagged off a ten day 'National Integration Tour' on Wednesday here from Assam Rifles Garrison at Mantripukhri.
Thumplin Monsang, Chairperson, Manipur State Commission for Women and retired judge A Noutuneshwari Devi flagged off the tour which will be undertaken by 34 women from Manipur . Assam Rifles official said the women will visit Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad and Kolkata.
T Monsang highlighted the importance of engaging women in peace processes and social reformation. She appreciated the efforts of Assam Rifles for engaging the women of Manipur, as also for providing them the much needed avenue to venture out and explore other parts of the Nation.
