Indian farmers in Tripura demand security for farming ahead of wire fencing

Agartala, Jan 28 (UNI) Indian farmers living in Tripura along Bangladesh border have demanded security to ensure their farming activities ahead of barbed wire fencing in different locations of the state following an alleged attack on Indian farmers in Kailashahar under Unakoti district on Sunday.
As many as 13 locations on Tripura border have Indian farming land beyond wire fencing where farmers from the villages mostly in Unakoti, North Tripura, West Tripura and Sepahijala districts go for cultivation and agricultural harvesting close to zero line. Over a hundred families of Indians still reside out of fencing and allegedly living in threats from Bangladeshi miscreants.
During the left-front government, a proposal to rehabilitate fenced-out families inside the fencing was sent to the centre, but it was not sanctioned.
