Arunachal: No Pakistan flag displayed in Nirjuli hotel, confirms police inquiry

Itanagar, May 15 (UNI) Following a viral social media post dated May 14, 2025, alleging the display of the Pakistan National flag on a hotel hoarding in Arunachal Pradesh's Nirjuli, the Nirjuli Police has conducted a prompt and detailed inquiry to verify the authenticity and context of the claim.
According to Superintendent of Police, Naharlagun, Mihin Gambo, the investigation has clarified that the symbol on the hoarding was not the Pakistan flag but an Islamic religious symbol featuring a crescent moon, star, and the number "786"—widely recognized in Islamic tradition. There was no ill intention to hurt public sentiment, and the hoarding was voluntarily removed by the building owner on the same day and handed over to the police for verification.
As per the police inquiry, the building and trading license is registered to Tadar Jumsi, under M/S Ajmat Restaurant and Beef Hotel, located at Bage Tinali, Nirjuli.
