Article 371(A) a temporary transitional provision: Nagaland Chief Secretary

Dimapur, May 12 (UNI) Nagaland chief secretary Sentiyanger Imchen on Tuesday said Article 371(A), which is applicable in Nagaland is a temporary transitional provision.
Speaking at a seminar on "Article 371(A)" and "The Nagaland Village Council Act 1978" at Mokokchung town hall, Imchen said Article 371 (A) is a provision under the Constitution of India intended to safeguard the traditional and customary identity of the Naga people.
However, he said, many fail to fully understand the provision and often misinterpret its purpose, which he described as unfortunate.
