Earthquake of magnitude 5.7 hits Sikkim, no casualty

Gangtok, May 12 (UNI) An earthquake of magnitude 5.7 and at a depth of 10 km struck Sikkim in the wee hours on Monday, official sources said.
There was no immediate report of any casualty in this eastern Himalayan state, which is surrounded by China in the north and east and Nepal in the west.
"An earthquake occurred at 29.02E, 87.48N, of magnitude 5.7 and at a depth of 10 km.
"The epicentre of the earthquake was at a distance of approx. 218 km from Tadong, near Gangtok's southern side.
The IMD said, "Tremors may be felt all over Sikkim at 02:41:24 (IST').
