Public surrenders 87 weapons in Manipur

Imphal, Feb 26 (UNI) A total of 87 different types of weapons, various ammunition/munitions, and other miscellaneous items were voluntarily surrendered by the public to Churachandpur, Imphal East, Bishnupur, Thoubal, Kangpokpi, Jiribam, and Imphal West Districts during the last 24 hours, police said on Wednesday.
Six 7.62mm Self-Loading Rifles (SLRs) with empty magazines, INSAS 5.56 LMG ,M-79 40mm Lathi UBGL gun (Made in Pakistan) without a registration number were among those surrendered.
