Four militants nabbed in Manipur

Imphal, Mar 14 (UNI) Four militants were nabbed in four separate operations by Manipur Police and security personnel during the last 24 hours.
Police said here on Friday that a cadre of PLA was nabbed from Sagolband Sayang Kurao Makhong , Imphal West District. Security Forces apprehended a suspected cadre of UNLF (K), in between BP 85 and BP 86 under Tengnoupal PS, Tengnoupal District.
Manipur Police arrested a cadre of PREPAK, namely from Kakching district. In another operation Manipur Police arrested a cadre of KCP(Apunba) from Imphal East.
Police further said intelligence based combing operations and cordon and search operations are being carried out to recover all the looted/ snatched/ illegal weapons in the State. Manipur Police resolves to carry out regular sustained simultaneous raids to recover all these weapons.
During the last 24 hours arms and ammunition were recovered from Imphal East District. Meanwhile movement of vehicles on Imphal to Mao was likely to resume on Friday after Kuki organizations life blockade on the highway.
Army, Assam Rifles, BSF, CRPF personnel and hundreds of vehicles who were stranded on the highway were now preparing to move on the highway. The Kuki organizations lifted the blockade after Naga organizations protested the blockade of the highway where even students appearing for examinations, ambulances could not ply as heavy stones, burnt tyres, wood were piled on the highway. Anybody travelling were also fired upon and so far about 27 security personnel including Army, Assam Rifles personnel sustained injuries in the attack by Kuki protestors on the national highway.
The blockade also resulted in the death of a man and injury of about 16 other persons.
